DESCRIPTION:

On this original linen-backed lithograph from 1888, Garsed, J. L., and Green, F. W. patented a perambulator that relates to facilitating steering. The front, rear, or both axles are mounted on central vertical pivots and are connected by rods, cords, or any suitable toothed or other gearing to a rotary handle-handle bar in such a way that, when the propelling-handle is turned one direction or the other, the axles are correspondingly moved for steering.
